Brianna Cooper has been an adequate journalist at best, even a careless one at times, sputtering through a deadend job on a small weekly, But then two brutal murders occur on successive nights, and one of the victims is a close friend. Nobody at the newspaper thinks she's up to the challenge, but she promises herself she'll do better—do the job she was hired to do.
