In 2021, RFK Jr. said, "I see somebody on a hiking trail carrying a little baby and I say to him, better not get them vaccinated.”
It's a Public Disservice Announcement from our new Secretary of Health and Human Services, from whom I'm taking a temporary break. I have said all I'm going to say about him, for after "quack," "charlatan," and "mountebank," I've run out of appropriate titles.
But I urge you to read this piece from the Office for Science and Society at
McGill University, so that when you're accosted by another anti-vaxxer who quotes a non-medically trained "expert" who's pushing a new book or a podcast or the "steak and salt" diet or some other harebrained panacea, you'll have some ammunition with which to fire back.
As an aside—my doctor is not writing a book or hyping her podcasts. I don't believe she has a television network or food plan. Not even a slick website. She's too busy practicing medicine—advising actual patients—making actual diagnoses—curing actual diseases. Seems like a good plan.
