Move over, TRUTH SOCIAL. TRUTH MEDICAL is online.

For months I've feared that RFK Jr.'s control of the nation's health would, over time, kill or harm the well-being of untold numbers of Americans, what with his vacciphobia and arrogance toward actual science and medicine. I may have been wrong — it appears that more parents are becoming aware of the role of vaccinations in protecting their children's health. As a result, more parents are seeking advice from trained and educated pediatricians. Kennedy's scare tactics, increasingly removed from reality, are falling on a greater number of deaf ears.

That would be a good thing, except his boss, who knows painfully little about everything, knows even less about science and medicine, and has now steered wrong thousands, if not millions, zzzz of pregnant women. Not only that, but in one fell swoop, he has endangered their as-yet-unborn children. Truth Medical at work.

Trump's ignorance about the causes, prevention, and dangers of Hepatitis B would be laughable if we could be sure nobody would pay attention. However, his confidence in disseminating misinformation will resonate with some. In truth, not many babies contract HBV at birth, but those who do face liver problems, liver cancers, cirrhosis, and shortened — often painful — lives. The vaccination protects them. Period. Turning it down is idiocy, or what we now call Trumpism.

Fortunately, RFK Jr. and Trump are inadvertently making us smarter. Now we know that we can't simply ignore age, genetic, hereditary, and environmental factors and call something a study as many autism "experts" do. Now we can discuss the difference between causation and observation, and we can explain that if a woman who has taken Tylenol during her pregnancy gives birth to a child on the autism spectrum, it's not necessarily because of the Tylenol any more than that black cat who crossed your path made you lose that promotion. Was the woman older? Was there autism in her family? Was she a smoker? Drug user? Did she work with dangerous chemicals? Further, most of these autism studies didn't even have control groups. They aren't studies: they're hunches, thoughts, and whims. And they will harm people in ways we have yet to imagine, but we are learning.

If you have a minute, make a list of the misinformation and downright lies Trump spewed at the United Nations and add that to his presentation on Tylenol and Hep-B. It's disconcerting and embarrassing, no matter where your political affinities lie.

Last Sunday in Arizona, Trump said he wished no good for his enemies. He said he hated them. His medical advice should be taken in that context. And if he really wants to rein in hate speech, he can start by never saying another word.
