The "Safening" of America, Part 1

During his campaign, Donald Trump, a straight white male, promised to put an end to some imagined rein of terror created by transgender people overrunning the country—there's one for every 250 cis-gendered persons. ("Cisgender" means normal in MAGA-speak, like "straight," "white," and usually "male.”) And since the U.S. contains about 100 people per square mile, there isn't much "bumping into."

Nevertheless, making the lives of transgender citizens more difficult will make more room for those normal people like Edward Jacob Lang, Capitol riot participant indicted four years ago for civil disorder; assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers; assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers using a dangerous weapon; obstruction of an official proceeding; aiding and abetting; disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds with a deadly or dangerous weapon; disorderly conduct in a Capitol building; and an act of physical violence in the Capitol grounds or buildings. Detained ever since, he was able to delay his trial because there was so much evidence against him that preparing was difficult. I'm not making this up.

It took Trump only a few hours to make our country safer and more welcoming—for everyone who looks, thinks, and acts like him.
